Is there a difference between FTTB and FTTH?

1. Different equipment

When FTTB is installed, ONU equipment is required; FTTH’s ONU equipment is installed in a box in a certain part of the building, and the user’s installed machine is connected to the user’s room through Category 5 cables.

2. Different installed capacity

FTTB is a fiber optic cable into the home, users can use a fiber to use telephone, broadband, IPTV and other services; FTTH is a fiber optic cable to the corridor or to the building.

3. Different network speeds

FTTH has a higher Internet speed than FTTB.

The advantages and disadvantages of FTTB:

advantage:

FTTB uses dedicated line access, no dial-up (China Telecom Feiyoung is known as fiber-to-the-home, which requires a client, and dial-up is required). It is easy to install. The client only needs to install a network card on the computer for 24-hour high-speed Internet access. FTTB provides the highest uplink and downlink rate of 10Mbps (exclusive). And based on IP speed limit and full broadband, the delay will not increase.

shortcoming:

The advantages of FTTB as a high-speed Internet access method are obvious, but we should also see the shortcomings. ISPs must invest a lot of money in laying high-speed networks in each user’s home, which greatly limits the promotion and application of FTTB. Most netizens can afford it and still need to do a lot of work.
